Meet Our Owner Relations Team
Village Realty understands the value of a long-term relationship. Our owner relations team will be working with you when you join the Village Realty rental program.
Kara's career in Outer Banks property management began nearly two decades ago, when she started as a reservation agent with Village Realty in 2005. After obtaining her real estate license, she worked as rental manager for homeowners and vacationing guests for over 12 years. In recent years she gained valuable experience as renovations/asset manager, working closely with owners looking to maximize the investment potential in their vacation homes.
Now, as Assistant General Manager, Kara has the opportunity to bring her dedication to property management to the next level. She loves working closely with all teams at Village Realty to give the very best service to our homeowners and guests!
Brendan grew up in Chesapeake but was fortunate enough to spend lots of time visiting the Outer Banks at his parent’s beach home in Avon. The natural beauty, wildlife, water sports and fishing drew Brendan, his wife, and children here permanently in 2009. Before joining Village Realty, Brendan’s career was in banking and finance where he helped countless other families realize their dream of owning a piece of this heaven. Now he takes joy in helping Village Realty’s homeowners make the most of their investment.
In the past seven years, Brittany has worked in the vacation rental industry on the Outer Banks. She fell in love with the industry after her first summer after working as a reservations agent in Corolla and knew this was the career path she wanted to pursue. Growing up on the Outer Banks gave Brittany an appreciation for the ocean that has stayed with her. Working in the business of vacation rentals allows Brittany to share that love of the beach with our owners and guests.
Joseph is a North Carolina native, growing up just West of Charlotte. He and his wife made the permanent move to the Outer Banks in 2022 and have loved it ever since. Joseph’s career in property management began five years ago, when he started as a leasing assistant for an apartment complex and rose through the industry to become the property manager of those very same apartments for two years. After obtaining his real estate license earlier this year, he began working as a rental manager helping homeowners maximize their rental potential and is excited to add his experience to the Village Realty team.
Stephanie grew up in Durham, North Carolina but always vacationed here with family at least 2-3 times/year starting in 1968. Then, in 2002, she made the permanent move down here. Prior coming to Village, she has 23 years of mortgage and then 6 years of property management here in the OBX under her belt. She loves living here and anything to do with the beach and being on the water. When not at work she enjoys relaxing with her dog, Roxy, gardening, hiking, and playing golf.
Hi there! I'm Miranda Mummert, a proud mom of a little spunky boy who keeps me on my toes. I was born and raised in Ohio, but I fell in love with the Outer Banks when I visited in 2017. I decided to make this beautiful place my home and I haven't looked back since. I love working with owners who share my passion for this amazing community. Let's work together to make your dreams come true!
As an OBX transplant, Karl and his wife moved here 11 years ago from the DC area. Now with their two small kids they are stuck here on purpose. Karl has an extensive background in many aspects of property management, including managing HOA's, luxury apartments and vacation homes. In his spare time he is a frequent flyer, kitesurfing and fishing the beaches of the Outer Banks and traveling the world.
Emily Masters, the Hatteras Island Property Manager, moved to the OBX in 2020 from Puerto Rico. Her ocean-loving, surfing family decided to try something new after living in the Caribbean and managing short-term rentals for over a decade. After receiving her North Carolina Broker’s License, Emily began taking care of STRs on Hatteras Island and quickly formed wonderful relationships with homeowners, cleaning and maintenance teams, as well as many service providers in the area. She loves welcoming homeowners and guests alike to Hatteras Island and providing a 5-star experience! In her spare time, she enjoys long walks on the beach, photographing the beautiful nature of the island, and watching her son catch waves. Emily is committed to customer service while overseeing every aspect of Property Management!
