Join us for the FREE Sunset Festival at Jockey’s Ridge Crossing and enjoy some great activities and fun while you shop at some of the best stores on the beach. The Outer Banks has one of the best places to view the evening Sunset on Jockey’s Ridge Sand Dunes. Stop by the Kitty Hawk Kites store to pick up a kite to fly while watching the sunset. Life on a Sandbar has a little bit of everything, including sand art projects, cool hair wraps/braids, and beautiful jewelry. Try some of the best homemade ice cream in the Outer Banks at Jockey’s Ridge Creamery and some amazing fudge at the Fudgery. The Sunset Festival happens Monday through Friday nights. Each week, you can enjoy (subject to change):

Mermaid Mondays:

Come meet and greet our mermaid! You can capture the moment with a beautiful backdrop and shop awesome mermaid merchandise at Kitty Hawk Kites. Finish the night off watching the beautiful sunset while enjoying a delicious treat from Jockey’s Ridge Creamery or The Fudgery!

Kite Lessons Tuesday:

Join us for our free kite lessons on the sand dunes! You can learn how to fly stunt kites and dual kites or you can bring your own kite. You can also build your own kite with Kitty Hawk Kites in the yard at Jockey’s Ridge Crossing.

Ukulele Wednesday:

Want to learn how to play the ukulele? Lessons will be held in front of Life on a sandbar and Kitty Hawk kites at Jockey’s Ridge Crossing.  We will provide complimentary Kala Brand ukuleles for the lesson. Space is limited so make sure to book ahead of time to secure your spot! After the lesson, each student will receive a coupon to shop for their very own Kala Brand ukuleles that are available at Kitty Hawk Surf Co. and Kitty Hawk Kites!

Fire Spinning Thursday:

Music is an essential part of the human experience. Join us for an evening to experience the real magic of music through fire spinning! Our radio DJ will keep the music going during the entire performance!

Family Game Night Friday:

Challenge your friends and family in a variety of outdoor games and activities! While you’re here, you can shop from a variety of stores to buy some awesome souvenirs and gifts!
