Description

With a location one row back from the beach on a hill with stunning views, you’ve found the perfect large family or group getaway at Burd’s Nest. Spread across three levels, this vacation home features six bedrooms and two full kitchens. And the family dog is welcome to join in the fun at this dog-friendly home. There’s private beach access just 100 yards away, and Currituck Sound is right across the highway. Charming Duck is two miles south, where you can walk along the waterfront Duck Town Park Boardwalk past restaurants, shops, and fishing spots, or simply relax and enjoy a beautiful sunset over the sound.

There’s plenty of fun to be had right at home as well, with a basketball hoop in the driveway for pickup games, a hot tub on the deck, a saltwater pool for the kids, and an outdoor bathroom with a full shower to rinse off after a day at the beach. Additional outdoor space includes several wraparound decks offering breathtaking ocean views, including a ship's watch rooftop deck, perfect for watching the sunset.

Inside, both the ground floor and top floor feature full kitchens and large dining tables, making it easy to prepare meals for a group and dine together. New LVP plank flooring was installed in spring 24. Each level has a family room, along with eight TVs, a DVD player, and free WiFi. Relax in the private theater room for family movies. The night concludes in any of the six bedrooms spread across all three floors, including a primary bedroom with deck access, an en suite bath, and a private sitting area - but not before raising a toast at sunset.

CANCELLATIONS MUST BE SUBMITTED TO Village Realty in writing. In case of cancellation, all monies will be refunded less a 150 cancellation fee if you cancel 31 or more days prior to arrival. If you cancel 15-30 days prior to arrival, you will receive a 50% refund. Any cancellations within 14 days of arrival will not be subject to a refund.

This home has so much personality! The views are so very wonderful! Lot's and lots of room in the house for family time and privacy when wanted. She will make you feel like you are at the beach and NOT want to leave. The neighbors (including rental guests) were good quality. Beach access is fantastic. A very clean and well taken care of beach. A very safe street. Absolutely fantastic walking into town (about 1.8 miles). Easy walk, great exercise, and of course DUCK is fantastic. She is an older home, so be patient, but remember you are at the beach, and she will give you a great beach vibe. We will be back next year. Very much worth it.

The location was perfect. The house had views of the bay and the ocean, just a short walk to the ocean! The house was a little dated but a perfect beach house with a pool and hot tub. The hot tub didn’t remain too hot- but I don’t like it that hot anyway! Great time had by all!

Overall, we had a really nice stay. The house was big enough for our friends and family and had all the necessary things to be productive. The proximity to the beach is great, as were the views from the house, and the central location between Corolla and Kitty Hawk was a huge plus. The pool area is great, being a fine size for a day of enjoyment. Any previous comments stating that the house is "dated" obviously didn't grow up in the 80's/90's The house is a unique throwback, and we kinda dig it! We had a great time!
