Southern Shores is the place to get away from it all! Stretching from ocean to sound, Southern Shores starts when you turn north on Route 12, and in fact you can ride your bike all the way to Duck and beyond. All the beach accesses are private for residents and guests only, ensuring an uncrowded beach experience. There is very little commercial in the town, but the grocery store is right around the corner, and Southern Shores Crossing offers a few hidden gems, including Coastal Provisions and the OBX Artspace. Dogs are allowed on the beaches only before 9am and after 6pm in season.
