The house itself is stunning and had so much space for two families with small kids. There were plenty of bath towels, extra blankets and pillows. The one thing that really bugged us is that there were no cleaning supplies. We had to buy paper towels, cleaning spray, hand soap, trash bags, and Clorox wipes. The home has been upgraded since the photos were taken to also accommodate extra beds within the home and it was large enough that we didn’t feel both families were on top of each other and we had our own space. There was all necessary beach equipment outside (shade pop ups, toys, boogie boards, a wagon, chairs, etc.) which gave us a peace of mind since we didn’t go crazy when packing those supplies.

This is a beautiful home waiting for your family’s memories. We thoroughly enjoyed our week in this lovely, spacious house located in Monterey Shores (Corolla). My family of six enjoyed the pool, the hot tub, the bikes, the beach, and every ice cream shop on the island. We would walk or bike to most locations to avoid parking issues. We had a fantastic week relaxing in this well kept, well cared for home. If you are seeking some R&R, then this house is for you. BTW, the owners take the reviews very seriously and have updated everything that was previously mentioned.

Yesterday, we had to return home from our family vacation at Mermaid's Tale. The backyard was perfect with the pool and hot tub that had a great combination of sun and shade. We had fun building puzzles on rainy nights. Loved having 3 1/2 bathrooms - no one was fighting over who was showering first. Kitchen was fully stocked with dishes and cookware. There was plenty of outdoor furniture to pick from and in different locations of the deck and pool area. When I had to contact the home owner about the pool, she was very friendly and quick to respond. I also found the house to be in a nice quiet area and wasn't a far walk to the beach access, but we chose the 5 minute drive to Bonito St beach access so that we would be near a life guard.

We had a great time at Mermaid's Tale! 4 adults and 2 kiddos under 2 -- loved the pool, the adults loved the hot tub after the kiddos went to bed! The house was so great, kitchen was well stocked. And great access to the beach...loved the easiness of the brand new access that led us straight to the beach. And THANK YOU for having a beach cart at the house which made that walk even easier! :)

The house was spacious and clean, and just as described. The hot tub was very relaxing and appreciated on some of the colder Spring evenings and mornings. The home was well-appointed and equipped with everything you might need - games, bikes, beach gear, etc. The bathrooms were slightly dated, but not bad. It would be perfect in the off-season if the pool was heated.
