Sweet, welcoming and charming home in the community of Manteo. A walkable distance to the historic downtown district. We truly enjoyed our stay, as it was an easy drive to the beach and lots of things to do. Will definitely stay again!

Horatio's Hideaway is in a tranquil neighborhood of Manteo, nestled between Manteo Elementary and Manteo High. Great neighborhood to walk or run. The property is new, the front and back porches are a real bonus. We were quite comfortable during our long weekend visit in Manteo and look forward to the next time we stay at Horatio's Hideaway.

The house is well situated and convenient to downtown Manteo. It is a good size for 4-6 people. We had some minor issues with kitchen items that needed to be cleaned more thoroughly --probably due to prior guests putting away items (frying pans and coffee machine) that were not completely clean. Can't fault the cleaning crew from not checking items stored in the cupboards. We could not use the four tvs, because we had not brought the passwords for our own streaming services, but the wifi was adequate for all of us to use. We were only at the house for three nights but found that the grocery stores (Food-A-Rama) was convenient for our grocery supplies. All in all, great house and we would rent it again.

Stayed w my 4 teenagers. They loved all of the game options! Excellent location- near town so the younger teens- who can’t drive yet-could walk. Short drive to Nags Head. Nice size back porch was a hangout spot for all of us. Easy to understand TV remote - a plus for those of us who don’t do high tech! Couches were very comfortable, lots of natural light throughout, tasteful decor, and plenty of towels (a must have w teen girls!) The cost was very reasonable (we stayed late December). This rental house felt like a HOME. It was quiet and we felt very safe. Will surely stay again if the opportunity arises.

We stayed in this beautiful home twice, both during the low seasons--December and April. Both times it was exactly what we needed and equally serene. The location is on a quiet street, just a block or so off the main road. While neighboring homes are visible, there is sufficient privacy created through the use of landscaping, porch screens, and the thoughtful placement of windows that really keep your group protected. The kitchen is beautiful and stocked with the items you need to cook if you want to; there's a big kitchen island, plenty of storage space, and various lighting to suit any mood or need. A large dining table seats at least 6 comfortably. The living room offers a fireplace and access to the front porch, while a screened back porch is accessible through the kitchen entryway. The main bedroom is separated from the other two guest rooms, and has it own spacious bathroom with dual vanities and a large shower. A laundry room is near the main bedroom so you can pack less and save a little space. We enjoyed the birds singing when we sat on the porches--there are trees galore in this part of town. A short walk through the neighborhood leads to the main road, or if you like history, you can traipse through the old town cemetery a few blocks away to discover the family names and local heroes. Everything here is comfortable and the decor is lovely. Horatio's hideaway is the perfect place for a family, a friends group, or even just a solo or couple to find the space to relax, unwind, and plan your Outer Banks culinary or activity experiences. Nags Head and the Cape Hatteras seashore are just a short drive away. If you think you might enjoy Peruvian or Mexican food, we suggest visiting the El Shaddai Chicken restaurant along the main road (Rt. 64) in Manteo.

We stayed at Horatio's Hideway 3/24/24 to 3/29/24. The propetty is located 10 min from Nags Head. The home is cute, has all the pots and pans you need to cook, a grill, linens, etc. I also loved the fact the had several games for kids and family. The wi fi worked great. You were about a mile from down town Manteo.
