DU909: Blue Bayou (Formerly Blues Run)

We've been coming to Blue Bayou for decades. This time we were saddened that it is beginning to look a bit too worn. The couch is stained and torn; the living room carpet needs to be cleaned; the butcher block knives are rusty and should be thrown away (probably rusted because dishwasher never fully dries the dishes); and there was dog hair everywhere (inside and out). In addition, the sheets are stained and threadbare and the towels smelled strongly of cigarette smoke. (We had to call and request new towels which Village Realty promptly provided.) We appreciate your asking, and we hope these concerns can be addressed.

We love the house so much we rent it repeatedly. The one thing that would make it better would be a fence around the yard so we could let the dogs out unleashed. Thanks.

We loved our stay at Blue Bayou! Particularly enjoyed the walkable neighborhood and short distance to the beach. Great restaurants nearby! The home was very comfortable and clean. Can’t wait to come back!
Recommend bringing your own blanket for the colder days.

The location is great, the proximity to the beach is perfect, and the views of the Atlantic from the house are spectacular. Everything was clean, beds were comfortable. The TV had all steaming options, and the WiFi was fast (though it was a bit challenging to find the WiFi password in the instructions for the home). The kitchen is well stocked with cookware, dinnerwear, and silverware, though a few staples like salt and pepper would have been appreciated. Also, I would expect more than one roll of toilet paper per bathroom, and hand soap in each bathroom would have been appreciated. Overall it is a great house, we had a great stay, and would definitely stay here again.

We enjoyed our family trip in Duck, NC. It is a great location, a beautiful house, dog friendly, close to restaurants and shops, the beach is steps away, and everyone in that area is very friendly. I highly recommend this place.

Clean, comfortable oceanfront rental with stunning views and absolutely beautiful sunrises, providing a tranquil retreat by the sea. This oceanfront house rental exceeds expectations. We had a wonderful stay. The host was very kind and responsive and the place was clean and as advertised. The location is stunning and the beach just amazing. The kitchen is very well stocked. My only suggestion would be to add a hot tub, as it would've been so nice to watch the beach while sipping a drink in a hot tub. But certainly not a deal-breaker. The kids loved it, and it's pet friendly, family friend, and on the beach. No surprises. No complaints. Just a great time!

Mostly great! Loved the house just thought the bathrooms and kitchen could have been a little cleaner. Also there are no amenities like boogie boards, chairs, toys, bikes, a gas grill, etc. Just a warning to bring your own. Lovely location and neighbors and home.

This house is perfect for anyone who wants a view of the ocean from almost every window! The short private walk to the beach is wonderful. The bedrooms are comfortable, and there are plenty of little nooks for reading and relaxing.

Blues Run was at a great location, both being in Duck and right on the beach. The view from the whole top floor is incredible, you get both sunrise and sunset because of the different patios. We were very impressed by how clean it was, especially being a pet friendly residence! It was very well equipped for cooking. We had everything we would have wanted in this rental!

It was a very good experience. The listing and the property were accurate. The only blemish was inconsistent WIFI performance impacting the TV. Village Realty staff were responsive on the first incident. The second incident occurred late Friday afternoon/ early evening and lasted through checkout Saturday morning. Have a troubleshooting guide and telephone help contacts.
