Experience what it's like to live like an Islander at this charming oceanfront cottage in peaceful Rodanthe. Islander is situated on a huge lot surrounded by natural vegetation for plenty of privacy from the neighboring homes. Dogs are welcome, so even your canine companion can join you on Hatteras Island's pet-friendly beaches during your stay. An expansive east-facing deck with hot tub is where you can soak up the sun by day and lounge under the stars at night. Fire up the grill downstairs and serve your fresh catch at the picnic table while enjoying the refreshing coastal breezes. Inside, you can still admire the ocean view from the comfortably furnished great room with vaulted ceilings and plenty of natural light. Whether you're watching a movie or preparing a meal in the kitchen, the open-concept layout means everyone can still socialize. Three of the four bedrooms are located on the top level with the living area, including a spacious king suite with private bath. The fourth bedroom is located by itself on the lower level - the perfect option for giving kids a space of their own. Bed and bath linens are always included at no extra charge, and the beds will be made with fresh sheets and pillowcases prior to your arrival.

The town of Rodanthe is the ideal setting for a laid back, slower-paced vacation while still having conveniences and dining options nearby. If you need a break from the beach, take a trip back in time at the Chicamacomico Life-Saving Station Museum. Reel in the catch of the day from the Hatteras Island Fishing Pier, or enjoy the other side of the island with a variety of watersport activities in the Pamlico Sound.

Can’t stay an entire week? Islander is available for short stays and offers flexible arrival/departure options for those who like to plan ahead. In-season partial week stays (three-night minimum) can be reserved months in advance, and guests can choose any day of the week for check-in and check-out.

PLEASE NOTE that due to erosion, the beach access at the end of the path behind the house is not currently safe for use. Guests can use the Rodanthe Beach Access, which is the preferred access for the Rodanthe area. The Rodanthe Beach Access is located half a mile from the house and includes a parking lot, showers, well-maintained walkway to the beach, and lifeguard.

Perfect location
This was my family’s first time to the Outer Banks and it was wonderful. This property was perfectly located with easy access to local shops but more removed from the busier Nags Head and Avon. The size and amenities were as expected, overall I think the property could use some general updates, but it did not detract from our amazing vacation.

The beach house was lovely! Myself, my wife and daughters came for an extended weekend. It was very peaceful, quiet, great scenery, and my family had fun. I would recommend this house if you want to have a peaceful getaway and listen to the waves of the ocean. We will come visit again soon.

Great view of the beach from the deck, nice new hot tub. Welcome package not left so no essentials upon arrival. Had to go to the store first thing. Cockroaches and ants. Sheets are very uncomfortable. Every member of the family said they were scratchy or felt like plastic. Mats by each of the doors, inside and out, would be nice to help control sand. A stick vacuum or something like that would help in day to day clean up to keep up with the sand. The broom and dust pan isn't enough especially on vinyl plank with lots of ridges. Outside shower was full of sand, not a real problem, but all the thorns growing in and around it were. Living room ceiling fan is missing screws in some of the blades so it's extremely off balance and can't be used. These are all small things, but definitely make a difference between a 5 star and a 4 star stay

This is a great rental beds are very comfortable
Hall bath shower head had calcium buildup so not a strong water, pressure kitchen could use a pizza pan and more silverware. Other than that this is a great place. Hope to come back again soon.

Our four nights at islander were just what we needed for a quiet get away. The house had a wonderful deck with an ocean view. We spent most of our time on the deck. The house was quiet, clean, and had all the basic amenities listed. Had an issue with the deck chairs that was addressed right away on a Saturday which was very much appreciated. We really didn’t want to leave and could have easily stayed a full week. We will go back there again for sure.
