Description

If you have been to Corolla, you have noticed the pretty, colorful homes dotting the landscape on the left as you head north. These charmers are located in The Hammocks community within The Currituck Club, a very popular vacation destination spot on the northern Outer Banks.

With just over 70 homes in this neighborhood, you can see the attention to detail and feel the friendly atmosphere here. Not only do you have the wonderful amenities that are provided by The Currituck Club including several community pools, tennis courts, trolley service and more ... you are only minutes away from the outstanding beaches of Corolla and excellent shopping too. There are two large grocery stores nearby including the new Harris-Teeter where you can find ready made food, a great selection of wine and beers and outstanding customer service.

Sound Spirit is very nicely decorated and welcoming. This three bedroom retreat has a Tower Room with ocean views.. The Dining Room table has seating for 6 and additional seating in the Kitchen area with 2 bar stools, perfect for the whole family. All three bedrooms are equipped with Smart TV's for streaming your favorite shows and movies.

The owners have thoughtfully provided something for everyone including a shuffleboard table. There are two master bedrooms (bath attached) and one of them has a soaking tub. Speaking of tubs, there is also a hot tub which accommodates six people.

There are three outdoor decks where you can soak up the sun, read a good book or just relax. Additional outdoor features and amenities include an outdoor shower and an enclosed yard. Sound Spirit welcomes pets, dogs only so you do not have to leave Spike or Barkley behind.

Great house with lots of updates and plenty of space for our family of 4, plus our dog. Open concept living area and nicely appointed bathrooms were great. Loved that there was no carpet throughout as well, the house was very clean. The backyard however, needs some attention desperately. Overgrown landscaping and weeds were not very inviting to get to the hot tub. We appreciated the fence as it was great for outlr dog, but we felt that the uninviting appearance of the backyard could easily be updated without spending too much money. Also the kitchen stove is pretty outdated and could be replaced to help families like us who cook while on vacation. The only other thing worth mentioning is that the interior door leading to the garage does not latch unless the deadbolt it locked and our dog got outside without our knowledge once. Thankfully we were able to get him and bring him back inside within a few minutes. That door could pose a bigger issue for other renters though, especially those with small children, as there are stairs immediately down into the garage. Overall, very nice house for a pleasant stay, just a few items needed attention to improve the experience for future renters.

Overall the house was great! It was perfect for two couples with kids and dogs. The backyard was fully fenced which was a nice surprise. Great for the kids and dogs. The neighborhood was nice and the location of the house was great. The pools weren’t open yet but it’s still early in the season. There were plenty of restaurants and activities in the area and it’s just a little drive to Nags Head/Kitty Hawk area.

Sound Spirit was a perfect home for our week in Corolla! We enjoyed the extremely close proximity of the home to the community pool and trolley stop. The rooms are all spacious and the multiple floors and decks make the house seem much larger. The only feedback I would offer for future guests, is that the multiple stairs can be a bit much for older guests. Also, the main living space provides limited soft seating options for when the entire family wants to gather. We really enjoyed our stay and look forward to future visits!

We really loved this house. It was a perfect seize for our family of 5 and our dog. The shuffleboard table on the first floor was a huge hit with our kids. We wanted our dog to like the yard more but there was no shade during the day and no grass - only mulch and stones. The home was clean and nicely decorated. Overall a very comfortable stay and would recommend this home to friends.

A very nice house. Kitchen is well stocked with all the gadgets and pots/ pans. The fenced in back yard was very nice for the dogs. The neighbors are great. The only thing I`d change is to have reality company make sure the ac is set on a comfortable temperature. It was 77 down stairs it took 2 days before it was comfortable and that`s because it was cool outside and we opened the windows.

This was our 4th time at Sound Spirit. This house fits our family perfectly. Easy walk to the shuttle & community pool. Kitchen is fully stocked with everything you should need. We love the new hardwood floors & the new living room sofa. Cant wait until 2020 --- see you next year Sound Spirit!Suggestions: I think hardwoods throughout the house would be a fantastic addition, as well, as blinds on the sliding glass doors & the windows in the kitchen area. At times, we were uncomfortable eating at the table, as the neighbors could see in.

The Wi-Fi address that was on the contract and that is hanging on the refrigerator in the house and on the plaque is incorrect. I had to call the office for the correct info.Only con of the stay was renovations on exterior stairs at a home several doors down started at 7:15 am. The noise was unfortunate.

The house was nicely decorated and very clean. We were comfortable and liked the layout of the house. We took advantage of the neighborhood tennis courts and playgrounds. We’ll be back! Also, we have been coming to Corolla area for many years and have always had a good rental experience through Village Realty.

Staying at Sound Spirit felt like home away from our home. It felt cozy and comfortable as soon as you enter the door. During family vacations, we look for security and proximity, and this house has both. It being in a gated community contributed to our peace of mind as we stroll around the quiet neighborhood. It is also close to a big supermarket for grocery runs, to a public beach access, to the community pool which is a few steps away, and even to some tourist spots. The whole week flew by, but we will surely come back to this happy place. Highly recommended even by our toddler girls!

It’s a different feeling…We’re always happy to return to Sound Spirit. The bright and airy, pet-friendly vacation house is on a hill in a secure Hammocks neighborhood, located in the middle of the island (soundside). The rooms are big, cozy and clean. It’s nice to sit on any of the three decks with a cold bottle of beer. The Tower Room has distant views of the ocean; can even watch morning sunrise and sundown colors. At night it’s sooo quiet, like in a remote island, that we always enjoy a good night’s sleep--of course with all the MBR doors and windows tightly shut. Kitchen is well-stocked with cooking implements. The house is nearby a trolley stop (check for winter schedule) that can take you to community activities—swimming pool, golf, tennis, shopping, beach, etc. Sound Spirit never let us down, except when it’s time to leave that we’d always feel sad, “Do we have to go?”
