"We had a fantastic vacation. Loved the house and location. Private piece of paradise. Beach was everything you can ask for and more! If you want suggestions for improvement, I can only add that the bbq was full of grease when we got there. Tried to clean it but it didn't work well. Loved all of the pots, pans, dishes, etc. But could have used some more large forks and seafood forks as well as oyster shucker! Can't say enough about how comfortable the house was. Felt at home. Lots of room for 3 teenagers and 5 adults. We each had a comfy chair to sit and watch the dolphins. So lucky to be there. Hope to come back!"

"I loved my stay at this at this great beach house with its wide wrap around porch and the easy access using the elevator. The house has an old fashioned beach feel, which I like,. including hard wood floors, large kitchen and family rooms, and the best unobstructed views of the ocean. Every room had beautiful paintings and my bed was super comfortable. I also loved the additional lounge area on the second floor where I could sit in the rocking chair and have a great view of the ocean. Of course, everyone loved sitting outside on the porch. The large family dining table right off the kitchen, was well placed. We liked that everyone could lounge comfortably in the family room amid the large leather sofas and chairs. I loved soaking in the extra large hot tub. I look forward to another stay."

"I’ve stayed at Arcadia four times now, and I love this house because of it’s charm and real beach house feel. I am glad it has an elevator to make unloading as easy as possible. I’ve stayed there when it has been cold and loved the fireplace and coziness of the family room; and, I’ve stayed there when it is sunny and bright and loved sitting on the porches and how easy it was to walk down to the beach. I’ll definitely stay there again and highly recommend it as a great all weather choice."

Upon entering I immediately loved the uniquely historic sense of a solidly built beach house with its polished wooden floors, large kitchen and family room, and the best unobstructed views of the ocean. Since I love art, I was impressed with the beautiful paintings hung in every room. I appreciated that I found my bed was super comfortable, and loved the rich looking oriental throw rugs on the floors. Thanks for thinking of having a large family dining table where all could sit, and the large leather sofas and chairs for hanging out together in the family room. I loved soaking in the extra large hot tub as dawn was breaking, or in the evening relaxing after walks on the beach. I definitely look forward to returning someday."

"Our family of six absolutely loved our stay in Arcadia! The furnishings both inside and out were perfect. Arcadia has successfully combined history and modern conveniences. The layout of the home is ideal in terms of providing areas to gather as a large group or cozy spaces where one can curl up with a great book. We also enjoyed the option of being able to all sit at the dining table or at the smaller table with a view of the ocean each morning. The art displayed throughout the home is beautiful and added a feeling of warmth in each room. It was impossible to pick a favorite piece and the collection of black and white photographs took us back in time with lots of smiles. The views from the upstairs living area and bedrooms were unbeatable! It was a delight to wake up each morning to the waves. We were fortunate in that we experienced every kind of weather the Outer Banks can offer within our one week stay. (Earlier in our stay it was rather cold and windy so the fireplace was a delight. Later in the week our son was ready to splash in the waves.) The ocean front location was ideal as we had guests who ranged in age from 11 yo to almost 80 yo. The elevator made loading and unloading much easier. The hot tub was such a relaxing way to end the day! (We found it very easy to use and cover.) We spent a great deal of time on the deck when we were not exploring the beach. I highly recommend Arcadia for your next vacation and hope to be back again!"

"Arcadia offers the perfect place to relax and enjoy the beauty of the Outer Banks. This is the 2nd year we have stayed here and will return again. There is plenty of parking with an elevator from the parking area to the main level (a great feature!) and plenty of room to hang out either inside or outside including an extra large hot tub. We loved sitting on the large deck and watching the sunrise over the ocean. Whether you are looking for somewhere to have a family vacation or reunion, a girlfriend or sister week, a fishing trip, or any trip I recommend this house."
