The chef in the family will appreciate the five-burner gas range and the main level's open-concept layout, where they can still socialize even while preparing meals. After a day of fun in the sun, retreat to the newly updated primary suite that includes a private bath with jetted tub. It also features a cozy nook with daybed - the perfect spot for reading, catching up with work or an afternoon nap. Upstairs, the ship's watch provides an alternative sleeping option along with access to an expansive sun deck with views of the sound.
Pura Vida is within walking distance to the picturesque Bay Drive, where you'll find a multi-use path that runs for two miles along the soundside of Kill Devil Hills. It's the best place in town to walk, bike or simply enjoy a spectacular sunset while exploring the neighborhood. Launch your kayaks and other small vessels at the nearby Arch Street public sound access, just a five-minute walk away. Centrally located at Milepost 5.5 in Kill Devil Hills, you'll also be within a mile radius of coffee shops and popular dining options such as Chili Peppers Coastal Grill, Henry's and Trio. Bring your bicycles so you can bike to the Helga Street public beach access located half a mile away. For guests who prefer to drive to the beach, take advantage of ample free parking at the Hayman Blvd access just a mile from the house.

Beautiful house with so much space for our family to spread out. The kitchen was well equipped with all the dishes we needed to cook most of our meals at the house. We LOVED the outdoor spaces-plenty of space to eat and play outside and enjoy the beautiful weather. The beds were comfortable, the washer and dryer came in handy, and the tables were large enough for jigsaw puzzles and board game playing. We could walk to the beach and a coffee shop and explored a walking trail in the neighborhood as well. We had so much fun that we decided to extend our stay another day!- Posted: 9/26/2024

Our family had a great time in OBX while we stayed with you! The house was exactly as listed, very clean, and felt like a home and not just a rental house! It rained a full day while we were there and the amount of board games that were at the house was so helpful and we still made great memories even when it was a rainy day! Amazing place! We loved the areas! A truly beautiful home. I know some people may be thrown off with family photos on the walls but it’s so sweet that a family that owns and shares their cottage with their family also shares it with all of us too. It’s amazing to think of the memories they’ve created there and now they’re allowing us all to do the same. We’ll definitely be back. Couldn’t ask for a better place!- Posted: 9/13/2024

Wonderful stay
First time in OBX. The house was perfect! Great layout, very spacious and good location. It would be a short walk to the beach but we chose to drive because of the threat of storms! Definitely coming back.- Posted: 7/5/2023

The house is unique, cozy, and cute; we loved all the homey touches! There is WAY more space than a typical 3br/2ba so our party of three had lots of room to spread out. If you count the “bonus” spaces (loft room, den, and sitting room next to the master), this place could easily sleep 9 or 10 people. The bathrooms were clean and well maintained and the kitchen is beautiful with lots of dishes and flatware. There are televisions in almost every room and the WiFi signal was strong. The sound is a short walk away with a nice walking path along the water, and the house is centrally located to all the restaurants and shops in KDH. The exterior staircase could use more lighting—it’s really dark at night—but other than that minor suggestion, we had no complaints. We had a great stay at Pura Vida!- Posted: 4/1/2023
