Situated on a large wooded lakefront lot in a quiet, residential neighborhood, Sound Choice In Manteo provides privacy and seclusion that's hard to find on the beach. Direct access to the lake from your backyard is perfect for launching kayaks and small vessels. An expansive sun deck overlooks the water, with a covered patio directly below that leads to the ground-level apartment. Ideal for the guests in your group who'd prefer a separate space of their own, the apartment includes a sitting area, dining area, kitchenette, full bath, queen bed, and its own washer and dryer.
Upstairs on the main level, a traditional floorplan features the spacious eat-in kitchen area as the heart of the home, with water views and access to the deck for convenient indoor/outdoor living. We just stayed at Sound Choice for the 4th time in less than 2 years!!! This beautiful house is comfortable, private, and so peaceful! We enjoyed sitting on the back deck watching the sunrise and then the gorgeous sunsets from the front porch! Looking so forward to our next stay!!!- Posted: 8/29/2024

The home and the location are perfect if you want to be away from the typical tourist spots, but also close enough to anything you could need. The interior is quaint and there is plenty of room. Quiet area with a great view. You'll absolutely meet your daily step goal at this house - so many steps. Pet owners should know that this house does not have a fenced yard and there is a road out front, although its not a very busy road - its busy enough. If you have a dog that listens and sticks by you - this wont be a problem. Phil and his dog Ralph are the neighbors, and they really did make the week special - so kind and friendly, so be nice and respectful to them - they tolerate the constant turnover of renters next to their home. Give a wave and say "hello" ... The rental did not provide a vacuum so clean up was a little tough. The oven had not been cleaned in quite some time, so we just decided not to use it at all. We grilled but the grill in the garage was not useable, rusty and out of propane - so we ran to ACE and purchased our own to use for the week. Also, there are several outside hoses, but two of them could use to be replaced (they leaked a lot) - and there was no fire extinguisher in the home - Hopefully there will be one before the next set of guests move in. Aside from the things above, it was a nice rental ... Cozy with lots of charm, in a quiet location, and at a reasonable cost.- Posted: 8/23/2024
