This place was a dream! It was immaculately kept, provided privacy while maintaining close proximity to the beach, and overall was such a quaint and peaceful experience! The proactive contact was very welcoming and we never felt anything at all lacked! Well worth our 15 hour trip!

The house was beautiful and clean. Great location with a short walk to beach. Only issue was the hot tub was not working which was our primary reason for picking this house. Realty company was quick to respond to us about the issue just couldn’t get the repair done quickly.

This house was remodeled beautifully. It was clean, bright and comfortable. The kitchen was setup with every appliance we could ask for. The owners placed very helpful labels around the house identifying switches, TV usage and other helpful information. The deck off the master bedroom was great at night. We sat out and watched the starts. It even had a pool table which allow me to earn back some of the rental costs playing my wife!

It was perfect for a winter retreat, I absolutely loved the big soaking bath tub and the hot tub as well. There were deer in the back yard in the evening and the beach is just steps away. I loved watching the sunrise from the upper deck with my morning coffee. No real complaints.

Our second stay at the Salty Unicorn. Just as clean and bright as it was three years ago. This visit we were a party of six (the max) but it still felt spacious. Kitchen is well stocked, pool table was heavily used and the primary suite is awesome. Proximity to the beach is wonderful.

We loved this property. The updates and the location were fantastic. We visited the beach every day since it was just a two minute walk! The house was the perfect size for our family of four. The kitchen was well stocked too. We would love to come back again.

Loved the house; tastefully decorated, comfortable and clean (except for my being able to write my name in the dust on the lamp table in the downstairs queen bedroom). I think it would be helpful to have instructions posted near the hot tub explaining how to adjust the temperature. We were unable to find such info in the visitor portal. I would definitely consider renting this property again next year - it was the perfect size for the 3 of us. The kitchen was well equipped and beach access was close by.

The Salty Unicorn was the perfect place for our beach trip. It is such a lovely housebeautifully decorated and furnished with all needed amenities. The pool table was a special treat! The house was immaculate when we arrived giving us an added level of comfort. Beach access is wonderful and the location is central to shopping, dining and adventure. We certainly plan to return to the very special Salty Unicorn!

This was the most beautiful beach house we have ever stayed in! It was so peaceful and relaxing. The renovations made to this home were done so well. From the moment we arrived, the home felt so inviting. We spent the week so relaxed and enjoyed every minute of our stay. The home was plenty spacious and very clean. They provided a complimentary `starter kit` with things like dish washing soap, paper towels, ect., which was very nice. We also had a set of towels, wash cloths and hand towels for each guest. The balcony in the master bedroom was a great addition to the home and provided a beautiful view of the dunes and some of the ocean. The hot tub was very nice and was serviced twice during our stay. Our children (ages 7 and 2) absolutely loved the home. Our 2 year old made sure to let us know how much she loved the house almost daily. We can`t wait to return to the Salty Unicorn in the future! I would highly recommend this house to anyone.

This newly rebuilt home was lovely- clean, comfortable, well appointed. Location near beach was excellent- Please note: even though in community, pool and tennis courts not available to renters. Kitchen well equipped as well as gas grill . No beach chairs or umbrella so we purchased 2 for the next renters. Suggest: rent a tent from Mac for the week-One of the loveliest homes we`ve ever rented for a beach vacation!Loved the pool table as an extra benefit!

We loved our stay at the Salty Unicorn! Back in October my wife and I chose to stay at the Salty Unicorn. It was our first vacation alone without any children in 22 years! We loved the house and had a great time in our fall getaway. Once we got home we booked the house for our Summer week in the Outer Banks. We loved the house. Perfect size for our group of 5! Perfect location as it is a very short walk to the beach. The house has everything you need for a very comfortable stay! Great open living space downstairs and the Pool Room loft made for some great fun! The decor made you feel at home, very pleasant with a nice beach feel. ( Perfect). Can`t wait to visit again and call the Salty Unicorn our home for the week! As others have said, I would highly recommend the Salty Unicorn for a fabulous stay at the Outer Banks!

My husband and I very much enjoy our stay with Village Realty in April 2023. They were very informative and professional from the very beginning! I absolutely loved being able to find out any information I needed about the property with a text message from the staff without having to be directly in touch with the owner of the property. Our TV was having trouble connecting, and someone came out to fix it that day. They even brought our trashcans up for us and took them back, put chemicals in the hot tub for us to make sure it was working properly. We will absolutely be booking again with Village Realty. It was our first time to the OBX and we are in love! Thank you Village Realty :-)

Just steps from the beach, this recently remodeled home was the perfect place to stay. The master bedroom (with a huge luxurious bathroom), fully function kitchen, ample seating Livingroom, hot tub and pool table all got lots of use during our stay. A second floor deck made for nice outdoor seating including colorful sunsets. When the hot tub started malfunctioning, a repair crew came out immediately and fixed it. A grocery store is just minutes away, and there are many activities close by. We definitely feel like we made a great choice in staying here.

The more I travel to the OBX in the off-season the less I want to go in summer. Six inches of snow fell the night before we arrived. We did have to shovel the decks; however, the Salty Unicorn was warm and ready for our arrival. The hot tub was hot and freshly cleaned as well which was perfect with the weather. Two minute walk to the beach, two minute drive to the grocery store. And even in deep off-season there were plenty of restaurants to choose from. Lots of media options included at the house and the pool table made for plenty of distractions when not walking the beach.

My husband and I rented the Salty Unicorn for a week this past May. The weather wasn’t what we had hoped for (week before was nice and the week after too, go figure.) So we did a lot of staying in the house. The beach access is amazing! I mean amazing! Such a short walk, much shorter than the listing sounds like. So if you think it’s too far from the beach, I promise you it’s not! I couldn’t believe we were that close! I felt like a million bucks staying there! You can hear the ocean from the house which was a plus! The neighborhood was nice and quiet and the location was just perfect! The house is very clean, up to date, and super comfy. It was just the two of us, so it was more than enough room. The master bedroom with the stunning bathroom is just beautiful! The kitchen had everything we needed, literally and we didn’t expect that. For your food needs, Harris Teeter is literally in walking distance which made that an easy trip to grab stuff to keep at the house to eat. We used the outside grill which was clean and had propane hooked up for us already. The hot tub was very roomy and was an awesome amenity to have while at the beach. We booked pretty last minute (about two months ahead of our arrival date). While there were other places to rent to be honest this was by far the nicest and affordable priced one. We saw so many (online) that were so outdated and just honestly didn’t look that clean and we could smell them just by looking at the photos, if you get what I mean. ;) This place smelled so fresh and clean which honestly was a pleasant surprise, as we are used to just staying in hotels and you know they generally have an odor that’s just the nature of them. When we walked in we were so relieved, really. The check in and checkout couldn’t have been easier. We never had to step foot in the realty office. We arrived and punched in our code and when we left (we left the night before to beat the Saturday beach traffic) we simply checked out with a simple click of a button on the door and that was it! When we visit again, there is no doubt in my mind that we will stay at the Salty Unicorn. I literally am already planning this out, waiting for those May dates to open up in 2022! This is to the homeowners, you did an absolutely amazing job renovating the home. The before and after photos were shocking! While the house definitely had good bones before you guys took what was totally outdated and just boring to a whole different level. Oh and we were so impressed with the master bedroom add on! That was super smart and just made that home perfect and that much more desirable. Thank you very much for sharing your gorgeous and comfortable home with us! We literally had zero complaints nor would we change a thing about the home, it was literally just so perfect! We hope to stay again very soon! Stay safe!

This home is amazing in so many ways...everything has been well taken care of and the location is awesome! Our family of four includes two teenage boys and it was perfect...plenty of room! We would highly recommend this property and would definitely return again. And Village Realty was great...informative and responsive...could not have asked for more!
