"First family/friends OBX trip - We had such a great stay. Property managers answered every question. Check in was super easy. House was clean and walking distance to the beach. Heated pool was a total plus for when we just wanted to hang. 100% would go back again."

"Great week -- my second time staying at this property. Loved the improvements they've made since I stayed here last year, including: a new half bath outside by the pool, a putting green in the backyard, and a second grill down at ground level. The house and neighborhood are lovely and incredibly quiet, with plenty of deer around. It's about a 30 minute walk to the heart of Duck, with wide walking paths. The pool and hot tub are awesome, and the kitchen is well-stocked with everything you need. I only used the upstairs primary bedroom this year, but the bed is super comfy. My one complaint is the same as last year: the window coverings, in all bedrooms, are incredibly light and transparent. The bedrooms get VERY bright VERY early in the mornings. I wish there were some heavier window coverings in at least one of the bedrooms, for people like me who like to sleep in on vacation! This year, I put a few extra quilts over the curtains and window blinds in the primary bedroom, which helped! But all in all, Three Weeks on the Shore is a fabulous home and I look forward to staying there again!"

"Beautiful property and beautiful stay! - 3 Weeks on the Shores is amazing! The house is very spacious and accommodating. It is exactly as described. It is in a beautiful, clean community and pretty close to beach access. It is stocked with all of the every day needs in the kitchen (dishes, silverware, utensils, pots and pans, etc.) Our family enjoyed the pool, hot tub and several gaming options in the garage and board games. The only little hiccup we experienced was ants in the “kid” bedroom. Most of them were dead, so they must be treating the problem, but there was several. Overall, it is a great home and I highly recommend!!"

"Where to even begin!?! We had an amazing week! We both have high demanding jobs at home and it was a wonderful week to unplug and enjoy family time. The property is secluded with trees and had tons of amenities. It wasn’t too far from many of the activities we planned for the week. The kids loved the pool! We would grill out and hang by the pool in the evenings. The kitchen had everything imaginable needed for cooking. It was nice to be able to prepare a variety of meals throughout the week without hunting for all the kitchen gadgets. The rooms were great for sleeping. The adults took the room upstairs and the kids had the floor to themselves. The outside shower (and outdoor toilet) was a big hit for the boys! The board games and puzzles were a nice way to end the evenings. The rental company was prompt with our concern when we arrived. It was resolved in a timely manner and didn’t interfere with our trip. "We LOVED this property! It was clean, tidy and had all the supplies we needed. The heated pool was amazing and we didn't mind the short walk to the beach. It was plenty of space for our family of five and the game area in the basement was so fun for our kids. You couldn't see neighbors from the backyard as the house is surrounded by trees and the location of the property is great; as it didn't take long to get to restaurants and stores!"

"May OBX - We stayed at the property in the off season. The weather was a bit windy and rainy but the property still offered plenty of entertainment with the pool, the nice living room, the garage with games and the great location (short walk to the beach, quiet neighborhood for walks and quick drive to Duck/Kitty Hawk). It’s not specifically set up for kids but we had no problems with our 3 month and our two year old. Would definitely recommend."

"What an amazing place -- I loved my stay at "Three Weeks on the Shores." I sure wish I could have stayed for three weeks, instead of just 5 days! This house is in a great location (5 minute walk from the beach or sound, about 25 minutes walk to downtown Duck) on a *very* quiet street. Peaceful, relaxing, and separated from the neighbors by lush stands of trees. The heated pool was amazing (air temps were about 70 during the day for my visit, guessing the water was in the mid-70s) and the hot tub was absolutely perfect. I spent time in the pool every single day, and time in the hot tub every single night of my trip!!House is very well equipped -- the kitchen has every pot, pan, and gadget you could need. While there`s no built-in icemaker in the freezer, there are two countertop icemakers -- one in the kitchen and one in the garage / game room. Each of them could make a batch of ice in less than 10 minutes, this was super useful! The kitchen also has both a standard drip coffeemaker and a one-cup Keurig. While there`s no fridge out in the poolside "tiki bar," there is a small fridge in the garage/game room on the ground floor.Bedrooms were nice, mattresses super comfortable. I spent one night in the top level bedroom, then moved to the mid-level king for the rest of my stay. The top level bedroom was REALLY bright in the mornings, because it faces east and there`s no overhang covering the sliding glass door. Curtains and other window treatments in all the bedrooms are very lightweight. The mid-level king was a little better, but still got really bright by 6:30 or so. This is not a great house for sleeping in, and that`s my one complaint! (For my last four nights, I put one of the extra bedspreads over the curtain on the sliding door, and that helped!).I was traveling solo, so the house had plenty of space -- too much! -- for my needs. A larger group of 6-8 people might have issues with the two bathrooms, which are both pretty small. The top level shower had fairly poor water pressure, the mid-level was better. This house would benefit from one more restroom, probably ideally on the ground floor.All in all a great place, and I would definitely stay at this home again!"

"Rent. This. House! Amenities are on point- nice HOT hot tub in a serene setting, gorgeous sun worshiping decks with comfy chairs, shady hammocks for naps, a fun ga*rage with bar/ lawn games, tv, charging stations, mini fridge- super chill spot. Beds are super comfy, kitchen is modern and has the BEST ice machine. Bathrooms are spotless. House has tons of cute little spots to read, play games, do yoga, nap, have a cocktail and catch up with friends and family. The walk to the beach is quick, with trees that keep the sun off you, making the walk pleasant. House is situated so that’s its easy walks to the beach and the sound- perfect location. Plus, the neighborhood is nice, we had a great time walking around especially at sunset. We got to see a ton of wildlife, including deers! House included beach and sound access pass making bigger driving trips to the (close) beach very easy. Strong wifi! Close to shops. Tons of tvs. Everything works. Felt completely refreshed staying at this beachy retreat."

"Wow! What a wonderful property. Out of the three homes we`ve stayed at in Southern Shores, this was the nicest. Private location nestled into the trees; hot tub is great! Spotless and comfortable (AC is top-notch), and all of the decorative touches made this a special stay. The pretty kitchen had everything we needed; it was so easy to bring dinner out onto the wraparound deck and enjoy the sunset. Highly recommended."

Outdoor areas with so many places to relax and unwind were wonderful! Even the garage is a great place to hang out -- with a tv, refrigerator, dart game and more. Loved the privacy of the property, yet just a short walk to the beach. Can`t wait to go back!"

"Rent this house! We rented this house to extend our stay several nights after a week-long Corolla beach rental; and we loved this house so much that we already reserved it a year in advance for two full weeks next year. What we liked best was how well maintained the home is and how the home is nestled in the trees with multiple decks facing every direction. The home is in a really nice residential neighborhood with well maintained homes and though it close to other homes, you cannot see or hear anyone even from the decks. This was quite different from the "fishbowl" feel of the Corolla beach houses. It felt so private even though we were close to everything, including the beach and nearby town of Duck (a little over a mile away and quick bike ride on paved walking path). The owners have thought of every convenience to make you feel at home from the gas grill (have not seen another rental with a grill provided), to the outdoor lights, really nice outdoor furniture on multiple decks, extremely well-supplied kitchen, beach wagon, and the games. There is a fourth bedroom with a futon couch that has lots of new games and a large TV, so we used this as a second living room and our main TV room for late night movies or rainy days. Each room has its own TV and plenty of drawers and closet space with shelves, which helped us get fully unpacked and organized. Everything in the house is labels, so you know how everything works and where everything is. There is even a very clean newer hot tub tucked away in a private area amongst the trees with an outdoor shower. PLUS, they have an enclosed garage (most houses have open carports), which is great for storing your bikes without having to lock them up. Better yet, the owners have a beverage refrigerator, bar with TV and games inside the garage so it can serve as a great hangout place, which is great for those rainy days you sometimes get at the shore. They literally thought of everything. Though the home is older and the bathrooms dated, everything was so incredibly clean and well maintained and the newer décor really makes you feel like you`re in a professional designed home, not a rental. It`s close walking distance to the beach but note that you need to cross busy Duck road to get there (there are traffic lights to cross). We never had to do walk to the beach, because this rental comes with a private residents-only parking pass for the beach. You can easily ride a bike there in a few minutes or drive. We drove a few blocks over to the Hillcrest entrance where we found plenty of parking so close to the beach entrance along with bathrooms and showers to rinse off. That was so much easier than lugging all of our stuff a few blocks as we had done the week prior in Corolla where there were no bathrooms or showers. Plus, this particular entrance also has some ponds on either side of the drive that are home to tons of turtles that come to literally all swim over to say hello when you stop by. We rented bikes in Duck and rode them daily and never drove into town, which is a great way to avoid Duck Road traffic and not worry about parking. Duck has several nice restaurants and shops as well as evening sunsets on the South. We made memories in this home that our family will cherish for a lifetime and we look forward to making even more next year at 3 Weeks on The Shores."
