Beech Nut is a charming oceanfront cottage in South Nags Head that you'll want to return to year after year. Situated right on the dune line just steps from the ocean, getting to the beach couldn't be easier. There are plenty of outdoor areas for enjoying the salty air and coastal breezes. Soak up the rays from the sun deck while enjoying an ocean view and salty breezes. An expansive screened-in porch is furnished to serve as an outdoor living and dining space. Downstairs, gather the family on the patio where you can fire up the grill for a beachfront barbecue. If some alone time is what you really need, unwind in the shade with a relaxing soak in the hot tub. A half bath on the ground level is an added convenience for non-stop fun in the sun.

Back inside, the open-concept layout takes full advantage of the home's prime location. Take in the unobstructed ocean views from all the common areas of the home, even while preparing meals in the well-equipped kitchen. Three king bedrooms (one of which offers an ocean view), a bunk bedroom and two full baths will comfortably accommodate family and friends.

Located at Milepost 20.5 where the beaches are wide and uncrowded, Beech Nut offers the tranquility of the all-residential South Nags Head area while still being close to grocery stores, shopping and dining. A short drive or bike ride north will take you to the Outer Banks Fishing Pier and Fish Head's Bar and Grill. There, you can savor delicious food and refreshing drinks while enjoying live music and a stunning ocean view. Beech Nut is only 2 miles away from Coquina Beach and the 4x4 beaches, which are cherished local spots for fishing and surfing. If you're up for more adventure, you can explore the iconic Bodie Island Lighthouse or embark on a ferry ride to Ocracoke for an unforgettable day trip.

Perfect for our family Christmas at the beach.

We're sorry to hear that there were some areas for improvement, particularly with regards to the cleaning and communication. We take these concerns seriously and apologize if we fell short of your expectations.
Regarding your inquiry about the Christmas decor, we understand that it took us a few days to respond, but we did respond to your question more than two weeks prior to your arrival. We strive to be proactive in addressing our guests' needs, and we regret any inconvenience this may have caused.

The cottage was clean and organized. We could not get the tv’s to work, it would be helpful to have a sheet with instructions on tv operation.

The house we rented (Beechnut) was great! This was our third or fourth stay at this house and we’ve been visiting the OBX at least 2 times per year for 30 years. The location is great, the screened porch is amazing and the open deck is nice too. Our dogs loved this house too. I think I read that dogs won’t be allowed next year, that’s unfortunate. I hope we can find another ocean front house with similar amenities. Village Realty was very easy to work with also.

Absolutely would stay here again! Perfect location and loved the layout of the house. I would suggest that you add either hooks to hang additional towels in the bathrooms or add some kind of over the door rack.

House was fantastic and we hope to rebook for next year! Some areas for improvement: 1) Could use a shelves over the toilet - or elsewhere to put toiletries when multiple groups are sharing a bathroom since sink area is 2) Cleaning was substandard. Vacuum was left out - may have not even been run by the cleaners. Trash cans were not emptied and a box of condoms was on an end table This was our first year at this unit and with Village Realty and will definitely rebook for next year. Thank you. Gary Volo

We had a wonderful stay at the Beech Nut house! It was located right next to an ocean-facing sand dune on a quiet stretch of beach in south Nags Head. We watched dolphins swimming from the living room window in the morning and heard the ocean from the bedroom at night. Bring a flashlight! It gets pretty dark in this stretch of the OBX though the star-gazing is fantastic. The house is laid out well with comfy furniture and plentiful seating -- though it was just two of us and our two dogs. The screened deck was larger than it looked in photos and a great escape from the sun. The kitchen had nearly all the cooking equipment we needed. Just a heads up: the rental doesn't provide basic cooking ingredients or beach equipment. For electric vehicle owners, there is a standard wall plug under the house. We enjoyed our time here and would recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful stay in the OBX!
