Runnin' Down A Dream is the southernmost home in Nags Head, situated in the all-residential Colony South subdivision and backing up onto National Park Service land for ultimate seclusion and natural surroundings. A reverse floorplan means you'll enjoy views of the ocean, sound, marsh and spectacular sunsets from the top-level great room. Original pine paneling preserves the warmth and coastal character of this classic Nags Head style home, while the open-concept layout makes the space feel bright, airy and ideal for gathering. In addition to a sunroom for indoor/outdoor living, two levels of wrap-around decks provide plenty of room for soaking up the Vitamin D, relaxing in the shade, or simply breathing in the salty ocean air. With a a public beach access located five hundred feet from the house, you'll be just a two-minute walk to the sparkling Atlantic. Dogs are welcome at Runnin' Down a Dream, so your canine companions can join you on the pet-friendly beaches of Nags Head. Your furry friends will also love running around in the expansive yard without having to worry about traffic. If you're in the mood for some outdoor adventure, hop in the car and take a short drive to Coquina beach, a hidden gem that's a local's favorite spot for fishing and surfing. From there, explore Bodie Island Lighthouse or head south for a day trip to Ocracoke.

The house was prefect for our family and dog. Great location right at the end of the houses. Beds were comfy, kitchen was well stocked, beach is right across the street. Just prefect.

Great place phenomenal location and views

We really love this place. Our only complaint was the master with its own bathroom had huge furniture in it so it was hard to move around the room. The condition of the house was good but could use a little TLC updating. All the bedrooms in general were kindly of small. View a few ocean from the front deck, and the sound from the back deck with Bodie is light in the distance. It was wonderful to have the national seashore start at our backyard, quite beautiful! Will consider staying there again!

We had a fun beach vacation. We loved the location- not squeezed in between other houses, but on an end with open space. Easy walk to the beach. Very clean and open. Kitchen had lots of pots/pans/gadgets for all our cooking needs. Lots of deck space to enjoy the ocean breezes. Easy drive for ice cream or mini golf. Beds were comfortable. Like the layout of the house. Really great time.

If you're looking for a quieter stay in the OBX, this is a good spot. Great location for beach access. It's a ~10min drive to the main strip. The house is cozy and comfortable - good for 6-8 people (depending on couples and family size). It's not the newest house on the block, but it's been well maintained. The house was clean for the most part, especially for being pet friendly - a couple of dishes and pans required a rinse. Internet was fast. There was thoughtful placement of phone charging cables throughout the house (kitchen and bedrooms). Overall, it was a nice stay. Would recommend if you're looking for a quieter stay off the main strip and want frequent/easy access to the beach.
