The Whaler features a saltwater/saline pool. The water in a saltwater pool feels softer and does not dry out your skin or burn you eyes like chlorine pools sometimes can. Saltwater pools use a chemical process to turn the salt into chlorine and keep the chemical levels continually balanced.

This was our 4th year with Village Realty and 2nd straight at the Whaler. There was a hiccup with the code but it was promptly resolved, and a minor issue with the stove that was addressed quickly as well. We had a lovely stay at The Whaler. Nice house, clean, close to the beach, nice pool. The house was exactly what we needed and I have no complaints. However, and this is not a complaint, just a warning to other parents with small children, this isnt the best house for toddlers or small children. They did have outlet covers, which I appreciate, but there is no way to safely put a baby gate at the top of the stairs. I called before hand and asked so I was aware of this but I thought I could just push a coffee table or arm chair in front to block, but the furniture is light and my Herculean baby threw it to the side like it was a pillow. Also, my tiny terror is a water lover and a strong willed sneaky baby so I brought door knob protectors to contain him, BUT, the front door is a pull down handle so they didnt work. I also brought a door stick to wedge in the front door in case it was the pull down handle but with the locking system it cant be used or the door cant lock and beeps at you. Some of this might not matter to other parents, it just depends on your baby, and mine happens to be super strong, and crazy determined to get to the water, so playing chase the baby took away some of the fun from the vacation. This again isnt a poor reflection on the house just a warning to other parents with crazy babies like mine!- Reviewed On: 7/11/2023
