Village Realty began as “Village Realty and Management Services, Inc.” which was incorporated in North Carolina in July of 1993 by founder Robert Oakes, Jr. Village Realty acquired the Nags Head assets of Capitol Dominion Corporation on August 1, 1993, and continued the business of real estate management and sales.

Capitol Dominion, led by Dr. Craven Williams, began its operations in Nags Head in October of 1986. Robert Oakes was hired by Capitol Dominion to manage The Villas condominium association and assist with the initial association chores at The Village at Nags Head. Capitol Dominion expanded operations to include rental management and produced their first brochure, a four page black and white piece, in 1987.

Capitol Dominion, trading as Village Realty, worked closely with the developer of The Village at Nags Head, Ammons Dare Corporation, to develop a market for rental properties in The Village at Nags Head. The superior collection of amenities, including an eighteen hole golf course and an oceanfront beach and tennis club, aggressive marketing and a record of outstanding customer service have created lasting value for the owners of Village rental properties.

Village Realty added a sales division in 1995, and commercial condominium and HOA management in 1996. In 2001, we added a Corolla office to handle property management in the Rees Jones-designed Currituck Club, where we now dominate vacation rentals. Our Corolla sales agents are consistently among the Outer Banks’ top producers. Nags Head rentals have expanded in to Manteo and Kill Devil Hils, all while maintaining our personal touch and exceptional customer service.

The growth in our rental management program has always been fueled by the additional services we provide, and property owners have come to us one by one, drawn by word of mouth and our visible presence in Nags Head and Corolla. We are proud of the number of repeat guests that return to our area and company year after year, and we take pleasure in serving our owners and our guests.

In 2016, Village Realty entered a new chapter of growth, inviting investors from Tregaron Capital and Salem Capital to join a new incarnation called Village Realty Holdings. As we continue to expand our range of services and locations, we are committed to maintaining the same level of personal attention to our owners and guests.
